The Biggest Saturday of the Season Ohio StateâIndiana Notre DameâBYU & More: Wildcats and the Bengals started playing for the train bell trophy back in the early sixties, played for it for a little over ten years, and then just decided we're not gonna play for it anymore. They play for a train bell because they're both railroad towns. Ogden and Pocatella were railroad towns. And so students used to take the train back and forth between the games. And so I think it was Weaver State side. Their student body president was like that we should do a rivalry trophy and We're gonna have it be a train bell. And so that's what they played for. And then it just sat in Weber State's library for 50 years. 50 years. And then they brought it back. Yeah. And they brought it back in 2024. So the train bell trophy is back, baby. Rising from the ashes like the Phoenix. And that's what we are playing for on Saturday afternoons. Yeah. Yeah, fire. Saturdays feel holy in this college crowd. Sethin' James on the mic, preaching gospel true. Talking rivalries, legends, red, black, old, and blue. From dead valley lights to the camp, Randall Cold. They're telling stories. They never get old. Ain't no bench warm hearts on the show tonight. They're walking on proud on the stadium lies. Let a preferred walk on. No scholarship still putting it on. From the church until gate, hands in the eight. Welcome to the Preferred Walk On Show, the People's College Football Show. I am your host, Seth Saunders, joined as always by my co-host, James Kim and Jimmy. As you are fond of saying, Saturday is a PYA Saturday. Plant your ass on the couch and take it in all day long. Brother, this slate that we are about to dive into, I can you remember one this good? I don't even remember one last year this good, where it's just like. Big matchup, big matchup, big matchup, big matchup. Like so much intrigue this week. And multiple at all time slots. You know, you've got multiple at noon, multiple at 3:30, multiple at nighttime. It's a great day for college football. Yeah. And dude, I thought last week was awesome. Like the the different results and the different parody. Indiana goes to Lincoln and Nebraska gives them all they want. And they have a magical fourth quarter and and pull out a win to set up this gigantic showdown with Ohio State, rematch of last year's Big Ten title. Obviously, have the tussle in Tuscaloosa with the dogs and the tide on Saturday night, which lived up to its billing, which how many times does that actually happen? That was fantastic. which then sets up third Saturday in October for Alabama, Tennessee, and so much on the line, because now both those teams have a loss and are jockeying for position. Just man, so much, so much intrigue throughout the sport. And then this week you've got, dude, Ohio State, Indiana, BYU Notre Dame, like so many enormous games that are going to have implications for things. And this really, I think, for that Notre Dame team starts maybe meat grinders the wrong word, but they've got a couple big time show me games in the next month. They play BYU on the road, then they get Miami at home. And it's like w we're gonna figure out who the Irish are. And like it's not gonna be an issue of last year where it's they're having to make a case. They're gonna have a lot of opportunity to make a case in the next month of the season. So God man, I I I can't wait. I think it's I think it's awesome. Give me your before we start looking at these matchups and start going through these games 'cause this is one of those weeks where there's so much to talk about. We'll just jump right into it. But Give me your biggest takeaway from week six, biggest takeaway from last weekend's action. I thought that Indiana. I I thought that Indiana, you know, facing adversity and coming back. I mean, the Josh Hoover, I've been very critical of this season. And they could not run the ball at all against Nebraska's defense. And they were trying, and they had to rely on Josh Hoover's arm and He pulled through. So to see that him able to do that in that spot in a hostile environment is big for them going forward. I'm not saying that that's gonna be, you know, the defining moment of the season for them, but that's to know that they can rely on him. And he was rough early. I texted you, I think probably through halftime and was like, Josh Hoover's not good at football. I think I texted you that it like through half after my my halftime, my halftime early early game halftime stats or thoughts. And sorry, Josh. sorry, Josh. And it in the third quarter, he was still the same. It was like he just was missing wide open guys and they could not run the football. And it was like, it was weird. It reminded me of do you remember in the twenty three season with Beck? And it was like early in the season. And then it until he started running the ball a little bit and got hit in the games, he didn't really like lock in. He took a hit on a on a on a run. And then all of a sudden it was like a light switch flipped and he was just dialed in after that. And then he just was throwing darts and they just took off after that. And also I think that the there was some great play calls there too. in the late in the third and the early fourth quarter. Yeah, I mean, that in some ways, I mean not the same because I do think Nebraska's a much better football team than the Penn State team was last year. But a lot of parallels between their last second pull it out win in Happy Valley last season, and I feel like the one in Lincoln where I obviously not as down to the wire. The result was in hand long before the end of the game. But, you know, both Extremely hostile environments, big crowds, situations where and again, the teams were different. I think everybody last year it was expected kind of that Indiana's gonna walk in Happy Valley and walk the dog on Penn State and then it didn't turn out that way and you have to have that last second catch in the back of the end zone, which was incredible. But this thing, I mean, dude, for three and a half quarters, or I guess three and a quarter quarters, Indiana looked dead. Like it looked like the the ballgame was functionally over. And then you have these two massive completions to Nick Marsh. And it's like, what happened in this game? Like Nebraska had this thing fully in its grasp and now it's over. And yeah, man, it was it was such a quick turn of events. And it's it's also so tough if you are a Nebraska supporter, because you feel like you're having this moment that Atmosphere was unbelievable. And you feel like you kind of have the game in hand and are gonna do it. Matt Rule's finally gonna get like his signature win in so many ways, not just as the Nebraska coach, but as a college football coach. Man, I saw some graphics this week on his record against top twenty-five teams and all this stuff, and it almost looked like it had to be a misprint. Like how how poor the results have been against more quality opponents. And so Yeah, man. It's like it's this this is the beauty of the game though. Like, you just never know what's gonna happen. And so Indiana, do you feel like to undefeated national champs last year? And I feel like this year we're kind of just not talking about. Like, I know they haven't been dump trucking people maybe like we thought they would, you know, have the close game against Northwestern, obviously have this close game against Nebraska, but dude, sitting there undefeated. Doing everything they're supposed to do. And it's almost like, are we, are we discounting the Hoosiers more than we should be? They're just I I think it's I think they're a product of their success. It's kind of when a team is does really well, you just kind of expect it of them. And they just kind of are like, Indiana's doing what Indiana does. So you just kind of ignore it. It's kind of how when, you know, when When Bama plays well or when Ohio State plays well. When Ohio State beats a team 50 to 20, you're just like, that's just Ohio State. When I think it's I think Indiana's entered that conversation because it's not just last year. You look go back to Signetti's first year there. They, you know, roll through the regular season as well. They lose their one game, the one game to Ohio State, then they lose to Notre Dame. They were other than those two games, they blew out everybody. So for his entire tenure there, he's just, you know, pretty been he's been dominant. So I think that Indiana's entered that upper echelon of college football programs, which just sounds asinine when you talk about. It it is wild. it somebody had tweeted out or written an article about Indiana, Kentucky, UCLA. And it was like, no, this isn't a basketball article. Maybe it was Heather Dennich that wrote it. And It is wild, man. You kind of feel like you're in the upside down with all these teams playing well, which does bring me to UCLA, which I think has been one of the cooler stories of the season thus far. And and you and I have talked about this, but in so many ways, it is like IU West, where you have JMU head coach that heads to a power force school, brings half his roster there, and starts immediately elevating the standard and puts them in a place of Competitive excellence thus far. I mean, that UCLA team is not just winning. They look like they think they should win, which I think is probably the bigger deal. And then, you know, you're riding this high, riding this high, and then you get this news that Nico is likely out for the rest of the season. And I I do wanna be clear, I don't think that is an automatic death knell for UCLA's magical season thus far, because the way they've built themselves. is to rely on Wayne Knight, establish the run, be very efficient running the football, and then pick their spots off of that. You it's not like Nico's putting up video game numbers or anything, or he is the quote unquote reason that they're winning. However, he is a veteran that has tons and tons of starts at the P4 level. And I just think inherently there will be some drop off between him and whoever replaces him. And man, they got a spicy matchup this weekend against a team who is finally, it seems, finding their footing with a pretty good transfer quarterback. And so they've been a a really interesting story to me all season. And so I I I do wonder what that's gonna look like and who they choose to take the snaps. Cause everything I've read is that the kid that they had play last weekend at Oregon in the second half. may be the guy that takes the snaps, but Nico's younger brother also may be the guy that ends up taking the snaps. So we'll see. that'll be something to watch when they face off against Wisconsin on Saturday. But I I sure hope they keep it rolling because what a cool story. And if you if you play the the schedule roulette game and go through their schedule and look at things, if Nico was healthy, you start going, dude, they very realistically could be eleven and heading into Thanksgiving weekend and playing USC, which how incredible would that be? And so, yeah, man, they they they've been an interesting story for me and certainly was, you know, sad to see you know how you know how I am about this. I've been this way since we started doing sh I hate when these kids get hurt. Like I hate it. Number one, you'll get this short window to play. And so I hate it when they get hurt and and lose that opportunity. And if you're a kid like Nico, man, he was starting to play himself in the conversations about maybe he's third round pick, fourth round pick, like it's good for his career longevity. And so to see him get hurt, I don't know, man. I it's the one part of the game. If I could be like wave a magic wand and none of these kids get hurt, it'd be awesome. But it's part of it. And it's part of building your roster and being able to to take attrition. Look at look at Georgia, dude. Look at look at Saturday night against Alabama where they have no Nate Fraser, no Chauncey Bowens, and Dwight Phillips, peanut comes out and you know, you gotta have next man up. And so I it it's every week you see it with different teams. Yeah. It's funny you you bring up UCLA because it was the other big takeaway from last week for me was the opposite of what my big takeaway was from two weeks ago, which was Dylan Riola. Like it was like you give him it it's almost like Dylan Wyola being thrown into the fire against USC. It was like there was no preparation, no thought process, and he will look lights out. You give him two weeks prep and he looks like a deer in headlights. So it was the complete opposite of what we saw two weeks ago against USC. And I don't know what they're gonna do at quarterback for Oregon going forward because he looked lost and he reverted right back to his Nebraska days, trying to do too much. you know. Basically trying to be Mahomes junior and just making mistake after mistake after mistake. At one point he was, I think, I think when they finally pulled him, he was six for 19 for 42 yards. Like with three turnovers, two picks and a fumble. Like he was just, he was god awful. and it wasn't that like, you know, UCLA played like UCLA played good defense, but the he was missing like he was throwing into coverage, like trying to make these spectacular plays. Like instead of taking the the easy yards. So but I I'm all on UCLA. I hope that whoever starts the quarterback, I hope they keep going. They've been a fun story. You know, I will always root for X GMU coaches wherever they go. so I'm all on UCLA. Speaking of the Dukes, brother, I I feel like I really buried the lead here. Your Dukes making a big jump to the American this week. Yeah. How you feeling about that? I I'm excited. It's always a little nervous when you join conferences because you know you're obviously go I mean, the Americans I feel like the Americans a big jump up in competition. So and it's it's such a change because the roster, you know, it's like going into this season, we have basically have an entirely new roster because our entire team left after last season. so I was really curious at how the team was gonna look this year. And then it's just they just reloaded and we're like, all right, let's do this. And Like I could I was looking at the roster at the beginning of the season. I'm like, I know three names on this roster from last season. So, of the starting twenty-two. And I'm like, okay, and then you know, now they're all household names. It's like I wonder what it'll be next season. So, but that's just kind of what it is at the G six, you know, it's like these players just get poached and every season's a new season. And I'm hoping that Napier, he seems to be comfortable in that role in the G six. space and he seems to do well on it and that they will continue continue to, you know, develop and, you know, be dominant. I'm that's what I'm hoping. I mean, it's gonna be tough, tougher in the American to go undefeated than it is in the Sunbelt, let's be honest. Yeah, for sure. I mean, I think that's the beauty of it for for that program is there's gonna be a little bit different competitive level, which I think is good for them. The other part of this is, and this is what I immediately thought of when I saw the jump was How have the boys in seven years not covered a game in Harrisonburg? Feels like a big miss on our part. No kidding. Like, I feel like we need to rectify that. So we will be waiting with bated breath for the Dukes 2027 schedule. Although I guess there is still something to be determined on when that jump will happen, that it may not happen till 28, but it Could happen in twenty seven. Is that what I was reading? Am I right about that? Yeah. It it's not the the hope is twenty seven, but it all depends on the shuffling of other teams in the G six, because there's gonna be a lot of I from what I read, there's like lots of moving pieces in the G six right now. Yeah. What do you think will happen? Like I know there were alt other teams that were jockeying and had interest in joining the American. And then so inherently with JMU leaving the Sunbelt. The Sunbelt now has a slot to fill, depending where they go, could leave another conference with a slot to fill. And then I'll pose the question are there a couple FCS teams who may be interested in making a jump? Kough, cough, Tartleton State. Well, I think that there is gonna be a couple of of slots. See, it all depends on how big do these G6 conferences wanna get. I think that that's the biggest thing. Because it's like, do we wanna have are we gonna end up with a a G six super conference? Are we gonna end up with a G six conference that has 14 teams, 16 teams? Like, are we gonna end up there? Like I I think that that's just like I don't like it at the, you know, the the big boy level, at the P4 level. I think that's too much. And I think at the G six level, that's way too much. and then, you know, especially because we're getting rid of more than likely it's not official yet, but we're getting rid of conference title games. You know, the G6 level is going to be even more important to keep those conferences smaller. So I think y it the most you can do is 14 teams. And I still think that's pushing it. I think twelve is the the sweet spot and you gotta gotta leave it there. So I think the more teams you have in there, which I think some of these conferences are just they're looking at the money and they're gonna add more teams and they're not gonna listen to us because they don't care about that they care about the money. And I think we're going to see some 14 or 16 team conferences, which is ass nine, but it is what it is. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. I I I think that's the way that's the way we're going because it it just becomes a TV market game. As a conference commissioner, I'm looking to add as many TV markets as possible to then be able to package that and go get the best deal. For my conference, and and unfortunately that's just that's the world we live in. If if we could get smart and organize a different way and have TV packaging done under one hat, it would change all the math on this. But that's a conversation for a whole nother day. But all right, let's pick some games. Tons of games and really good ones. Let's just start off, man. Noonkick tomorrow, Ohio State, Indiana at Memorial Stadium. The boys have been Inside the house at Memorial Stadium, cool venue. I know that place is going to be rocking. We have been unapologetic that we think Bloomington is one of the greatest college towns in all of America. And I would pay lots and lots of money for my behind to be there tonight and tomorrow. unfortunately, it we will not be there. But Ohio State three and a half point road favorite, which was a little surprising to me. Where do you sit on this? I think that I I hate that I mean, I know the Big Ten has the big noon kickoff. I know that. But I hate the fact they put their marquee match up at noon. I just I don't like it. so Bloomington, they're East Coast time, right? So that is an actual noon kickoff. It's not an eleven. I think I remember that when we were coming because Wisconsin was eleven, but I think pretty sure they're East Coast time. That is the literally I was gonna ask you and then I was like the only reason I remember this is because of our time change driving from the Yeah, our time change, yeah, it was. It was. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So I I either way, I mean, it's just an hour. I th I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. Your your biggest matchup of your biggest game i it should be at l at minimum a three thirty kick. With the SCC's marquee matchup going tonight, they should move that to three thirty. or three or One something. It should not be the first their first game of the day. It should not, but that's that's an argument for another day. With that being said, I am gonna take as much as I don't want to, I'm gonna take Ohio State. And the reason being is that the biggest difference between these teams last year is not Fernando Mendoza, is not the state blue running backs, is not even Pat Coogan in the offensive line. There's no D'Angelo Pons. And D'Angelo Pons was a racer last year on that second in that secondary. And that is the biggest difference that I see on the field being able to help take away Jeremiah Smith and that passing game. And I think that Ohio State will be able to move the ball more effectively tomorrow through the air than they ever were last season in that Big Ten championship game. So I'm gonna take Ohio State. I will be rooting for the Hoosiers. I want the Hoosiers to win, but I think Ohio State's gonna win and I think they're gonna I'm gonna take IU and I could end up being dead wrong on this. And I I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. I don't think they have a D'Angelo Pons in the secondary this year. I think that's a fact. I don't I don't think there's really anything to argue about on that. However, I think Brian Haynes doesn't excellent, excellent job game planning. And this also feels like one of those games where there's just so much juice to it and such an opportunity to make a statement that it fits right in Kurt Signetti's pocket. Like 'cause as we talked about, man, I don't feel like people are talking about them. And obviously they haven't lost since 2024. And they're a they're a home dog against Traditional power Ohio State. I don't know. It just feels like all these little ingredients to percolate where SIG can motivate the troops, so to say. Now look, how much does that matter? I don't know. The most important thing is Josh Hoover protects the football. And I think if you are Brian Haynes in that IU defense, you have to make a conscious choice that somebody else can beat us, but Jeremiah Smith will not be the one that beats us. I just firmly believe based on what I've seen. with this Ohio State team that if you take Jeremiah Smith away, and I don't mean you have to shut him out, but I'm just saying you limit him enough, this offense struggles. And like I don't think Julian Saiyan's a guy. I still believe this because I just haven't been proved otherwise yet, where if if you've got to jump on his cape and him take you to the promised land, I I don't know that he's that guy yet. I'm not saying he can't be that guy. I just I don't think he's that guy yet. So yeah, I'm gonna take IU but I really agree with everything you said. I think that's a valid point. Jeremiah Smith is a freak and do they have a guy that can clamp him or do they have a couple guys that they can shade to his side and and try to clamp him? We'll see. I i i I think this is I agree with you too. It'd be awesome if this game was under the lights at Memorial Stadium on Saturday night. It'd be incredible. so think it would give that IU fan base an opportunity to get real tuned up. Donald Kirkwood. But alas, they'll have to wait till after the game. Breakfast and Sink to Biz. Breakfast and Sink to Biz, baby. Breakfast and Sink to Biz. Dude, and what was that breakfast place we went to? I wish I could remember the name off the top of my head. They had scray pancakes, cinnamon roll pancakes, wasn't it? Something like that. gosh. Excellent. It was pretty much next door to to Nick's. We're we're in there ordering and Jimmy can just see me as I generally do going to this menu and mentally processing that I'm gonna order that. I'm gonna order that, I'm gonna order that, I'm gonna order that. And I go to order and he goes, How about this? How about we just get one order of pancakes and we'll split it? And I go I go, Okay, we get we can do that. There's no way he was save saving me from myself. There's no way you're gonna be want eat all this. He would eat it all and just hurt himself later in the day, but but hurt. I would have been hurt. Yes, that was yeah, that was that was a good call. And it was an excellent amount of food and I felt awesome the rest of the day. So and we ate it NYX, like two hours later. And we ate it nicely, yeah. It worked out great. All right. Well, next one on the docket. Let's go let's let's pick Florida, Texas. I I had this as a as an either or But let's let's pick it. I I think it's interesting enough given all that's going on, right? Florida, the darling of the college media world through September, have now gotten dump trucked in two straight games, having to go to DKR in the forty acres, play a Texas team that's coming off a just perplexing loss to an OU team that has set modern offense back a hundred and fifty years. It's just unbelievable, dude. And I feel like the same problems arise. And what kind of makes me laugh out loud is number one, that Texas was number one in the country in the first place, but also they only dropped a seventh. It's like, how many times do we have to watch this team and still think they are this behemoth that they're just not, dude? Like I I wouldn't take them on a neutral field probably against 10 other teams that I could go through and name. I I just and I feel about it strongly. about that as I do about a lot of things. And so it's just insane to me. Dude, eleven and a half point favorite on the forty acres. Where are you at on this? Okay. I wish we would have been able to tape last week going into the the OU Texas game 'cause it's I had a great stat and I'm gonna bring it up this week. Okay. So which is reasons for my pick. Okay. Going into that week, I don't know what the stats are this week. OU's yards per play were a hundred and tenth in the country. Makes perfect sense, right? You would Doesn't doesn't make doesn't surprise you at all. Where do you think Texas ranked? Close, close behind them. They were 106th in the nation, just in front of them in yards for play. That's right. But but most people think because Texas it it I don't know why, but would think Texas has this explosive offense, which they don't. Their touchdowns are explosive. They rely on the big play for their touchdowns, but they don't have drives. They don't drive the ball at all. They don't run the ball well at all either. Then everybody expected with Smothers coming back that they were going to run the ball. They did run the ball a little bit better against OU. I don't think this game is perplexing too because we don't know who Florida's quarterback's going to be. I mean, I don't think Tremel Jones and his first start at DKR is ideal. But I don't and Florida's Florida's off defense is just a sieve right now. But I don't know if Arch can take advantage of it. I just don't. He doesn't see the field well. We've talked about this multiple times. He's always looking to make the big play instead of the easy play. he and last week he proved I'm not gonna live to fight another day. I'm going to try to fit it into these impossible windows. And he made huge mistakes. He could have had multiple other picks that weren't made. I I'm gonna take the gators, which just Sounds nauseous coming out of my mouth. I don't I don't think expect them to win a DKR, but I think that they're gonna cover, I think this is gonna be a tighter game. I think Texas's defense will keep their will shut down that offense for the most part. But I'm not sure that their either offense can score more than 24 points in this game. Yeah, I this is a really difficult one for me to to to to make heads or tails of because who is Florida? And who is Texas? I think you bring up great points about Florida, which is their defense is not good. The flip side of that is you bring up excellent points about Texas, which is do they have the offense that can take advantage of it? And I think some ways you can counteract an imbalance in roster and performance is protecting the football. And Arch has shown very clearly that is not his forte to protect the football. He is prone To do foolish things with the ball in his hand. And Farda does do a nice job with coverages and and blitz and all these different things where I think they could make him uncomfortable and force him into some mistakes. So I'm with you. I I think Texas wins the football game, but this does feel more like a seven to ten point game to me. So I'm gonna take the Gators too. Obviously, like you said, unknowns at quarterback with what's gonna happen there, and obviously a Extremely tough road environment to play in. But I don't know, man. Something strikes me as funky about this game. And I just am not a believer in that Texas football team. Like I I just haven't seen anything from them that gives me license to say, they're gonna be this this week when they haven't been that all year. So and think about this, brother. They're what, a ten sack performance, five of them by Colin Simmons away from also losing at Tennessee. So like I I don't know. I and again, I don't think that Tennessee team is that great. And so I just don't know how high their competitive level is, man. And and again, I I think it's in many ways laugh out loud, funny, that they're seventh in the country. And yeah. Which I think in in so many ways for me, this is kind of let's go back to the IU Ohio State game. Ohio State losing to them for me looks worse and worse every week because It seems like such an indictment on Ohio State, less than it does a validation of anything Texas did. Like, I just I don't I don't think Texas is that great of a football team. I I guess that's the long short of it. So For me for those on indictment. For me, that's still not an indictment on Ohio State. That's an indictment on Ryan Day. Ryan Day choked that game away. I said that when it happened. Yep. Yeah. That's true. I was getting the live text. That's a fact. Go for the go for the jugular. That is just And I even said when it got close that no matter what happens, this is on Ryan Ryan Day choked the choked, no matter if they win or lose. All right. Next one is interesting because again, we there's quarterback uncertainty. Mississippi State going to Death Valley to play LSU. LSU coming off their second loss of the season to mighty, mighty Kentucky. We're living in the upside down, dude. Kentucky's Kentucky's confident in football. We're living in the upside down. Dude, LSU 15 and a half point favorite. I would think this line is mostly driven by the fact that the expectation is that Kamario Taylor is not gonna play. and if he doesn't play, the expectation is that Billy Puckett would probably play. Former walk on Billy Puckett, which by the way, let's talk about this real quick. I need more depth on this. I just don't know the backstory. His government name is Parker Puckett, which feels like an electric name. And but he goes by Billy Puckett. And so I need to know. How that transition happened, because dude Parker Puckett sounds like a Stan Lee character, no? Yeah, definitely. Yeah, like I I feel like he could step right out of a comic book. And so so anyways, I I need to know more on that story, is what I'm saying. but I digress. So where you at on this? I mean, first off, who the hell is LSU? I I don't think any of us know the answer to that. and also in so many ways it it just makes me chuckle. Because there was all this hullabaloo and all this uproar and all this hype about Lane. And we keep coming back to stuff that you and I have talked about off air a lot, which is really, man, what the hell has Lane done? Right? Like to justify all the fervor over obtaining his services. Let's start there. been a good offensive coordinator? He hasn't been a great offensive coordinator. He's been a good offensive coordinator. I mean, let's let's be realistic. Let's let's be realistic. He brought a program in Ole Miss to Heights they'd never been to. He did do that, but that's his calling card. But that's it. He's not he he was terrible in the NFL. He was terrible at Tennessee. He was mediocre at Tennessee. He was not good at USC. He just he has. He was a good and he was a really good offensive coordinator at Alabama who f Saban fired. Let's be realistic. That's what happened. but he's been good offensive mind, not great. That's it. Yeah, I just I yeah. I I I've just the narrative around him and the juice around him has been I I've never understood it and I I continue. To not understand it. And like look, man, I I I do think there were lots of problems, deeper problems than probably anybody has fleshed out at LSU. And so I'm not saying he walked into like a, you know, five star course ready cupboard, but like given how it all went down and given what the narrative was, sitting right here. right now at four and two and one and two in the conference with a loss to Kentucky. Not great, homie. Not great. Like, I don't I think the old miss thing was in predictable in many ways, right? Like perfect storm. You go to Oxford. That school, that team has so much invested in that and there's just so much juice around it. And so them losing a tight ball game in that scenario, you know, like I really didn't think twice about that. But again, I think after the Clemson game Everybody's kind of making these assumptions and then obviously as the season's progressed and we've watched Clemson, you go, well, maybe Clemson just stinks. And so like, what's what's their what's their big win so far? And so I don't know who the hell LSU is. Now the flip side of that is who is Mississippi State without Camario Taylor? Huge question. So like I I think that's why it makes this number so difficult. But w where do you sit on this? I don't love the number. And I I don't love the number. This is more of a I'm against the number because of LSU, regardless of Mississippi State's quarterback situation. That's more where I am on this. so I'm gonna take state. I'm not I don't love it because I'm I'm going against LSU than for the team I'm picking. So I'm gonna take cause even if Camario plays a he's not gonna be a hundred percent and he's not gonna be He may not play the whole game. So I I don't love it. but I don't love the number. It's a weird number. It's just I feel like it's a bait. Yeah. It's a weird number. So I'm gonna take state. I'm not very confident in it, but it's more of an indictment on LSU than it is for state. I I'm right there with you. This is a pick against LSU more than it is a pick for the Cowbells, but but give me the Cowbells. I I'm taking them too. So so I'm with you. Fascinating to see what's gonna happen 'cause whether dude, Camario playing if he's not fully healthy is a big deal. And if he played, it would make me love them against that number. So the number tells me the expectation is is that he's not gonna play. so I don't expect him to, but if he did, I do think it would it would be awesome. All right. Let's pick this more for history than for intrigue, 'cause I I don't know that there's a ton of intrigue, but Especially given where it's being played. But Deep South's oldest rivalry, Auburn heading to Athens to play the dogs between the hedges. Dogs are a nineteen and a half point home favorite. The concerns, if you're a Georgia fan, is there is a letdown after the big win over Alabama last week. the flip side of that is if you have watched Auburn play any organized football this season, you should have no trepidation. Where are you at on this? I mean, I'm gonna take the dogs, the Auburn's defense has played o okay this season. I mean, it hasn't been, you know, terrible, but their offense is I won't even say stuck in neutral. It it's in reverse. It's been bad. Byron Brown's been been not good. and they really can't run the football. So, I I'm not a hundred percent sure what's going on with with that situation. but they've they've been not good. so I'm gonna go, I'm gonna t I I'm take the dogs and I don't love the dogs with big numbers ever. Like it's just it, I don't I don't love picking them in that these situations. But you know, it's at home, but it's not at that damn voodoo, you know, hell holes, pet cemetery ground. So I I love I mean I I I'm all for that. but the dogs are banged up. I mean KJ Bolden's probably not gonna play. So that'll be inter so that'll be interesting. You know, Bowens is probably out for the year. so it's you know, it'll be interesting. I I'd be shocked if Nate Frazier plays. I think we'll go with what the running backs we went with last week, you know, just leave everybody out through the bye week until Florida. So I will go with I'll take the dogs though. I'm the same. I'm gonna take the dogs. I think this is J Jimmies and Joe's thing. I think the Jimmies and Joes in Athens are just better. And I think they know who they are and they know what they wanna do. I I just feel like this is one where They're gonna control the line of scrimmage, control clock. it may not be much more than nineteen and a half. It might be right at twenty or twenty one, but I think they'll cover this number. yeah, I would be shocked if Nate Frazier plays. I think the wisdom would be to sit him. You get two more weeks of rest and then hopefully he comes back for the cocktail party. But it's ribs, so who knows, man. I that's a that's an interesting injury. obviously Dwight Phillips played great last week. Bo Walker was a good compliment. This is the thing, man. And this is the interesting thing that Kirby has been able to do even in the NIL structure is still build depth on a roster. Cause most schools now, just from a resources perspective, if you were down your top two running backs, you'd be in a really tough spot. And so they're one of the few places left, you know, probably them, Alabama, Ohio State, maybe even Indiana now, where you have enough roster depth. to withstand something like that. So yeah, I'm with you. It tough time to be an Auburn fan. I thought I saw some wild statistic this week, and I could be totally misquoting this, so don't take this to the bank. But something like Auburn has scored six total offensive touchdowns in Athens since like two thousand and nine. Does that track? Does that sound right to you? That seemed like an impossibly low number. But then like seems they've been then you think about it. Yeah, you think and you're like, well maybe that's right. Like They've been really bad in Athens. Really bad. So, yeah, I could be wrong on the total on that, but I thought I saw something like that somewhere, which was put my brain in a pretzel. All right. Another fun one, man. Third Saturday in October. Alabama headed up the river to Knoxville to play the Valls. Alabama is a seven and a half point road favorite. Again, a little bit of quarterback uncertainty in this ball game because my understanding is Brandon Fasen may not play. Is that right? I read that McIntyre is starting. I I read that McIntyre is starting. And I read that on Wednesday that he's starting. And I think it's irregardless of that they're gonna go with him, irregardless of health. interesting. I think that they were happy with how he played last last game. I think that, you know, they were so I think that they're gonna go with him. And he's I think they were happy with him because of decision making more than statistics because that game wasn't like he I think I don't remember the stat line, but it was like 14 of 24, 13 of 23, something like that, like 190 yards and a touchdown. But he gets the he makes the decisions quicker. I mean he's not a true freshman. Like he's been in the system a little bit. He just he gets it's one read pop, you know, so get the ball out quick and then, you know, get to the line, run your next play. Like so I think they like his decision making right now, which is I mean, Bra Brandon's gonna be a problem at Tennessee. He's just not there yet. Yeah, agreed. I I think Faizan Brandon's a really, really good player. I to your point, man. I'm just saying it's a reps thing right now. But yeah, I mean, dude, George McIntyre, big kid, six six, like I I I think he it's interesting, man. We we've talked about this a bunch too. I think Hypel's Heipel needs a certain guy in the offense. And I think it takes a little bit of time and a little bit of seasoning to get right in that offense. I think the best one that's been able to do it has been Hendon Hooker. I thought he was great at orchestrating that offense. And we've talked about that a bunch before, but it's there. Like Hypel does a good job, I think, scheming. It's just having a guy that can play dealer. So this interesting one, man. I just I mean, so where you at though? Like I think we're probably both in the same spot on this. Tennessee's defense is good. Really good. Yeah. Tennessee's defense is good. I'm I'm gonna be really surprised sh I will be really interested to see how Keelan Russell plays this week against that defense because he struggled last week under pressure. And pretty much all season he's been able to handle pressure, get away from it, and make excellent accurate throws under pressure. And last week he did not. So I'll be interested to see how he will be able to, you know, maneuver the the pressure this week. With that being said, I think I think this is a Jimmy St. Joe's game because I think that Alabama's too talented on the offensive side of the ball and to not cover the spread. And I don't think Tennessee has the guys on offense to score points against the Alabama defense. I think that's more where it is. I think this could very easily be like a a game close into the mid third quarter and then Alabama just pulls away. Kind of like Kentucky. I feel this game could go very similar to the Kentucky game. It's close through like, you know, 37 minutes and then they just blow them out of the water at the end. Yeah. I I'm with you on all that. I I I'm on Bama for the same reasons. I think offensively they had just have so many more weapons and the ability to put up points. And I don't think Tennessee has the offensive tools to keep up if it gets to be any type of track meet. You bring up an excellent point, though, is if Tennessee is able to pressure Keelan Russell, let's see how he responds to that. I thought, look, I think George's defense is as good as anybody's in the country. It may be the best defense in the country. And so he is not gonna see A, many schemes or B many rosters that have the talent to execute those schemes like he did last weekend. And I will say He did still do a nice job of protecting the football, only has the the weird fumble off the helmet. Otherwise, kept them in the ball game, did some things with his legs, hit some plays and hit some throws where you're like, dude, there's one guy in the conference that can make that throw, and it's Keaton Russell. Like he is a magician in so many ways, and I think will just continue to get better. Like, dude, if I I'm real bullish on them because of him. and also too. And this is neither here nor there about talent, but thought it was really, really cool that after a really tough loss, he waits on the field so he can talk to Gunnar Stockton and pass along his congratulations. Like high class move, high class kid, and like the he he is going to be singular. He's already singular, but like he he may be sitting in New York holding a trophy at some point. Like that's how good he is. So I I think when you have him You've always got a shot. So I I'm with you. I'm gonna take the tide too. But this is one of my favorite rivalries in all college football. Like third Saturday in October. So cool. I think we're both saying we think Alabama's gonna be smoking cigars after this game is what we're saying. So that's that's that. All right, dude. We got the Wally Pitt game at Vaught Hemingway Stadium. Mizzou, Ole Miss, Austin Simmons coming back to show the whole town of Oxford what they missed out on. dude, think this one's a ton of fun. Two of my favorite quarterbacks to watch in college football right now in Trinidad Chambliss, who is you know, he's incredible. And then Austin Simmons, who God man, he can really sling it and does it from the left side, and it's just it's awesome to watch. And so Olmus, a five and a half point favorite in this ball game, a huge matchup for both. Where where are you at on this one? Give me Mizzou. Give me Mizzou every day, all day. Missouri can't stop the run. I mean, Mississippi can't stop to run. They and what does Mizzou do best? They run the football. So I I think that I think they were gonna their game plan is gonna be to control the clock, run the football, keep Chambliss on the sideline. I I think their game plan is gonna be very similar to what Florida's game plan was. And they're gonna control the clock. And I think that they'll I I think this could be a two to one advantage clockwise. And if they do that, I think they're gonna win the game. I think Chambliss will do what Chambliss does. He'll make some spectacular plays and he will keep them in the game, but eventually that defense is gonna get tired and it's just not good. They're just not very good. They lost way too much in the portal and were not able they lost too much to LSU, is what happened. Giffen took too much of the defense with them when he left. Yeah. they weren't able to replace it, unfortunately. They were able to keep the offensive weapons, but they offensive pieces, but they were not able to keep the defensive pieces. Yeah, I'm with you. I think all that is spot on. I I think that's precisely how the game is gonna go. I I I don't just like Mizzou against the number. I like him to win straight up. I mean, I I just think to your point they are going to establish the run. They're gonna control the line of scrimmage. And I mean, I keep going back to how impressive that Mizzou D line was. in that Florida game. Like and if they have that capability, and to be very clear, Trinidad Shambles is a whole different problem than what they were facing in that Florida game. But to your point, man, I just I think that defense, it's almost going to be an attrition thing where Ole Miss is going to have issues staying off of the field. And as that game progresses, Ole Miss is going to have more and more problems. So I still think it's a tight game. I think it's gonna be a really good football game. I think this is one of the the better and undersold matchups of the full slate. But I'm with you. I I like Mizzou in this game too. And look, man, Mizzou wins this ballgame and and they're in a really, really good spot to start trying to chase down a CFP at large berth. So th they're an interesting football team to me in so many ways. And, you know, I had George Somerville on the show a couple weeks back and he brought up a great point too, which is dude, Mizzou's doing all in No Ahmed Hardy, right? Like who who could have anticipated that? Like Yeah. So and obviously health and best wishes to to Ahmed Hardy and hope he's back on the field soon. for for him more than for us, for sure. I I just hope the kid gets healthy and and gets back on the field. So yeah, man, I think that's gonna be a fun one. All right, let's go to another one. We alluded to this ballgame a little bit earlier. Big one at the Rose Bowl, Wisconsin. Going to play UCLA. UCLA's still sitting as a two and a half point favorite in this ball game, even with Nico not playing. And so I think this is a cool matchup in so many ways. Obviously, we we talked a ton about UCLA earlier, but Wisconsin's one where, dude, this is definitely a make something happen year for Luke Fickle. Got the backing of the A D and the program last season. And dude, the results have not been good. And so go in and beat Penn State, beat Michigan State, but outside of Notre Dame, man, they haven't really, I would say, seen anybody yet. So I think this is a big test on Saturday evening at the Rose Bowl. So where you at on this? You you you going with the Badger, Badger, Badger and ODU transfer Colton Joseph, or or you feel good about UCLA even with a backup? I really like what Wisconsin's done this season. And it I don't For anyone who remembers last season, I predicted Fickle to be the first coach fired last year. So I am not a fickle guy. I do not, I just, I'm not. I thought he was in way over his head at Wisconsin. And the first couple of years there proved it. I thought that he the results were not good. And but I like what they've done so far this year. I just feel like that UCLA's offense is kind of, they're not quarterback dependent. So as long as the quarterback does just enough and doesn't turn the ball over, I feel like they're going to be okay. Now they're not going to win games, you know, 42-17 anymore. Their game's going to be more like 24-17. because they're not going to, you know, have any explosives through the passing game. I think that their defense is good enough and I think with their running game good enough, I still think UCLA is going win this game. I think they're going to, the game that they're going to lose, because everyone's now expecting them to lose this game. Everyone's picking Wisconsin this week. I don't think that's the game they're gonna lose. I think it's gonna be one that comes out of nowhere. like I I I don't remember like the rest of their schedule, but it's a team like Ruckers or something that's gonna sneak up on them, that's gonna beat them like just, you know, in like a you know, monsoon or something like that. I don't think it's this week, though. So I'm gonna take the Bruins. I'm not overly confident in it because I don't know we don't know who the quarterback is. So that's a little uncertainty. Not that if we knew who it was that it would make the confidence better, because last week, you know, it was really weird. Like, cause they kept saying that Nico's brother was the backup, but he didn't play. It was really odd because it was like he was number two in the depth chart, and then they put the third string guy in. So it'll be interesting to see what Chesney does. But I also am going to like the Bruins because of I think Chesney's a better coach. I just think he's a better coach than Fickle. So I I like the Bruins. Yeah, I'm with you, man. I I think this is more of I like how they're built and I think how they're built is conducive to withstanding a change at quarterback. Again, if they were if they were constructed differently and the entire offense was built around Nico and his production, I'd feel totally different about this. But they play good defense, they play good assignment football, and most importantly, do they run the football, which gives them the opportunity to control clock. Keep their defense fresh, all these different things. I do like Colton Joseph a lot and I like what Wisco has done so far this season. And and you know I've got a soft spot in my heart for Wisconsin. I love I love that town. we had an incredible time at that stadium. You know, I I think it's better for college football when Wisconsin is good. I just I I don't know that they're all the way back yet. I I still don't know what their identity is. with Luke Fickle as their head coach. And I think that's what remains to be seen. And who knows, man, maybe this is the the win that does it, right? Maybe they come out and plant a flag at the Rose Bowl and this gets them going and and and they are a player. But I I I'm gonna go with UCLA. Some of this may be a hard pick. I like Bob Chesney a lot. I thought he was awesome at Big Ten Media Days and the messaging. And obviously he's won everywhere he's been and he's also coached at all the levels, man. And so I just love his story and love what he's building. So yeah, I'm gonna take the Bruins too, which is it's bizarre. It's just basketball schools everywhere. It's hilarious. And ironically, they mostly stink at basketball now. UCLA, mid tier. IU mid tier. Kentucky, like just all right. Mid tier. Yeah, like it it's just it's a it is a weird world that we're living in. Okay, here's another one that I think is a ton of fun. We got Big twelve showdown between Oklahoma State and Houston. Pokes have been resurgent since the opening week loss. Totulsa, North Texas North is is showing out. Eric Morris, Drew Mestemager, and the boys have just put on the offensive fireworks. And then you got a Houston team with Willie Fritz, who you and I talked about a bunch during the preseason and felt good about. They have a really tough loss against Texas Tech, but otherwise are kind of right where they're supposed to be. I dude, I think this is a cool matchup. And it's gonna be a lot of fun and a good measuring stick for both programs. Houston, a four and a half point favorite at home. Where are you at on this one? I like I really, really, really like the Pokes in this one. I really do. I love what Messen Maker's doing. I love what Morris is doing. And since that that game against Tulsa, he's been all lights out. He's just been on fire. Lights out. so until until they prove me otherwise, I'm riding Oklahoma State. So I'm I'm gonna go with them. Yeah, man. I'm going with the Pokes too. This is one of those things where their offenses just look like a boulder coming downhill since that Tulsa game. And i I I just I think this is gonna be a ton of fun. I Houston is a really good football team. you and I both love Willie Fritz and I think he's done a really good job. resurrecting that program in a lot of ways and putting them in a good spot. And so I think I think it's going to be a a really fun game. And and dude, a game where Houston may very well win, but I think it's field goal game. Like I think it's a tight ball game and I think it's going to be a a ton of fun to watch. So it's one of these dude going to have to have two or three TVs rolling because you got you got Notre Dame BYU on ABC at 7 30. You got Wisconsin UCLA on NBC. And then you got Pokes Coobes 7 30 on Fox. And it's like, I d I don't know that I have enough televisions to run simultaneously. Like I need to roll YouTube TV to do the quad box, I guess. Like just unbelievable set at night, which is gonna be incredible. So I think I'm with you though. I'm gonna take the pokes. I don't know that they win straight up. I think they certainly can, but I I definitely think they'll cover. So I'm gonna take the pokes. I I we loved North Texas last year and it's been fun to follow them as this season has gotten started. All right, let's go last FBS matchup of the day. Dude, big one. All right. Out in Provo. The fighting Irish headed to play BYU. I think in so many ways BYU is probably the most undersold team in America. They're a ten and a half point home dog against the Irish. I have feelings about this. Where are you at? I think we have similar feelings about this. I I don't love I th that's a big number at home. That's a big number at home. Big number. Gonna take BYU. I don't I don't necessarily think they're gonna win the game, but I I d definitely think they're gonna cover. What has Notre Dame done? What has Notre Dame done other than be named what is other what has Notre Dame done other than be the fighting Irish? To be to be n first of all, to be number three in the country. Second of all, to be ten and a half point favorites over BYU on the road. Like, yes, they I BYU loves to run the football number two in the country. Are they number two? Sorry, number two. I'm thinking. Thinking back to last week. Number two, they have a good run defense. BYU loves to run the football. BYU is going to continue to like hammer that nail no matter what. They're not going to stop, change their game plan, even if it's unsuccessful. And I think that if as they continue to do that, they're going to just chip away and chip away two yards, three yards, three yards. Eventually, one of those is going to pop and they're going to start to get chunks. Seven, eight, nine. Notre Dame's gonna get worn down. I don't think that, but I don't think that they're gonna necessarily, like I said, win the game. But this is gonna be closer because Notre Dame hasn't had to face any adversity this season at all. So it'll be interesting to see that. And plus, I still can't get over, like I love, I love Marcus Friedman. I think he's a great coach, but how soft they were after they got left out of the CFP last year and they didn't play in the bowl game. Mm-hmm. Like It's like that just sh that just soured my view on the whole program. And it's like, come on. So and then then their social media team had the nerve to point that after last week they were bowl eligible. It's like, why? You're not gonna go. Like, even if you don't if you unl you're not gonna go. What's the matter if you're bowl eligible? So sorry, that's neither here nor long story short, I'm taking the kooks. Dude, I this is the one game on the docket this week, which probably Everybody should run when I say this, but if I were to lay a bet this week with real money, money that's coming out of my bank account, coming out of my potential mortgage payment, dude, it's this one, and I don't know that it's particularly close. Like, this feels insane that Notre Dame is a ten and a half point favorite in Provo, number one. Like just independent of anything anything else, I think that's nuts. When you lay into the fact that Notre Dame has essentially played one true road game and it's against a very mediocre well, I guess they played Purdue technically, but I it's hard to count that. Sorry, Purdue. Y'all are just not there yet. I I don't know what's going on in West Lafayette yet, but y'all are not there yet. dude, they go to Carolina and it's tight against a Carolina team that's dude just okay. And so you're telling me now they're gonna go to Provo and walk the dog on BYU. I dude, I just don't see it like Number one, it's easily, easily going to be the most physical team they've played all season, first and foremost. And I think Bear Bachmeyer presents problems because because of what he's able to do, you have to play hat on head football. So you're gonna have to play eleven on eleven. Now, one thing that worries me a little bit, no LJ Martin. That's a big deal. LJ Martin is a game changer, okay? But the flip side of that is BYU has a legitimate, legitimate field stretcher in Legend Glasgow. And like I I think he he gives BYU a a dimension they did not have last year. And so I don't dude, this just seems like this seems like a game to that BYU could win straight up. Not just cover the number, like win straight up. And so it seems insane to me that you're telling me I get to take them and I also can have them lose by ten points and I still win. Like Seems best bet of the week, homie. Like I I I just don't even know that it's close. This could be one of those things where we look back on Sunday and this looks like the worst take in history, but I I I couldn't feel better about this. So yeah, I'm taking BYU, man. And again, it feels like the easiest pick on the board this week. And I will say, the boys have been picking this year. Just putting that out there. Yeah. We're both over sixty percent The records are real. real good thus far this season for your boys after a really tough twenty twenty five. I will say too, not tootarn home tour much year, pump our own tires, but historically we've been pretty good. Like, I know you got the historical record somewhere that we could pull out to back. they're on they're on my iPad. I keep I you know me. I got spreadsheets upon spreadsheets upon spreadsheets. They're on they're on my iPad. Yeah. I will say this year though, we have been on a particular heater. So okay All right, I want to transition to FBS because there are a few games I like a lot. You got your numbers sheet up because I don't have numbers on these. Not. I can I can get you numbers, but I don't have my iPad with I'm gonna find it. I'm gonna find it right now. I am gonna find it. I got three games I wanna pick with you. One of them is legitimately I I just think an electric game. The other one is let's just say I'm putting these on here because they have two of my favorite rivalry trophies. And so they are both on here. I think I got us some numbers here. Let's look. Yeah, we're cooking with gas now. All right. First one we're gonna do, we're gonna stay in the SEC of the FCS, the Missouri Valley Football Conference, and we are gonna go South Dakota State, North Dakota. Okay. South Dakota State, number one team in the country. They've been they've been incredible. but I like North Dakota. I like what they've done there. They had a nice season last season. South Dakota State, a eleven and a half point road favorite. You taking the Jacks or you go in with Coach Schmidt and UND? All right. Logic completely out the window here. I am going with the Jack Rabbits because the last two times I bet against them, they burned me. So I'm gonna take them this time. So I'm going with Jack Rabbins. I'm doing a quick check here on some health of Chase Mason. I believe that he is back this week. Well, that was the reason I went against them last time and they won by like thirty-eight. Well, I I do think that's been the big difference with them this season is, you know, last year they were steamrolling people and then he got hurt and they like fell off a cliff. And which is understandable, dude. He's he's a singular player. This year Maybe because of the experience last year, they have weathered it much better. but dude, Coach Jackson got the boys playing. Like the Jacks are a really, really good football team. I like in this too. And it's much more about offensive firepower and capability than anything. So I'm gonna take them too. Huge road number. and I like again, I I said I like what North Dakota is doing and I like the roster they have. I think they're a playoff team, but I'm taking the Jacks. Big number though, big road number. But Chase Mason, he's fixing to do something awesome. Okay. Next one we are going to do is the train bell trophy, which is awesome. Okay. Idaho State and Weber State, long E. I want to emphasize that. I may or may not have said Weber State on a video that I made and I caught hell for it. Justified. But as you know, if you can set your watch by anything, it's that your boy is going to mispronounce something. It's it just it is what it is, guys. I c I can't help it. It's in my spiritual gifting that I'm going to mispronounce something. So to all the proud Weaver State grads, I apologize. I will get it right moving forward. But dude, Wildcats and the Bengals started playing for the train bell trophy back in the early sixties, played for it for a little over ten years, and then just decided we're not gonna play for it anymore. Which Is ridiculous. So, dude, they play for a train bell because they're both railroad towns. Ogden and Pocatella were railroad towns. And so students used to take the train back and forth between the games. And so I can't remember which side. Maybe it was, I think it was Weber State side. Their student body president was like, That we should do a rivalry trophy and we're gonna have it be a train bell. And so that's what they played for. And then it just sat in Weber State's library for 50 years. Fifty years. And then they brought it back. Yeah. And they brought it back in twenty twenty four. So the train bell trophy is back, baby, rising from the ashes like the Phoenix. And that's what we are playing for on Saturday afternoon. So Idaho State going to Ogden to play the Wildcats. Seven and a half point road favorite. Idaho State has been playing really good football. Let's just say Weber State, not not as much. That's okay though. Rivalry games, all that goes out the window. So where are you at on this? Who is taking home the train bell trophy, my friend? I I think I think Idaho State, and I think they cover. I think it's gonna be not close. Yeah, I here's the thing. Big Sky has been really competitive. Idaho State has played really well. They were undefeated, then have a really, really tight loss against Northern Arizona, who's a really good football team, and the dude lost by a point. last week against Cal Poly. So like, dude, two tough outcomes in a row. But I really like their roster. Jordan Cook at quarterback is really, really good player. Okay. Now, let's flip over to the Weber State side. So had some tough losses earlier in the season, but have, you know, started off the big sky season pretty well. However, let's just say they haven't played The top version of the conference. Although common opponent, they beat Cal Poly. So let's just say, like, okay, Weber State's sitting well at the top of the conference, but haven't had a test me game yet. Even though, like I said, they did beat Cal Poly, who Idaho State lost to. I'm going to take Weber State to cover. I think Idaho State's gonna win, but I'm gonna take Weber State to cover. Because what did I the number was? Seven and a half. Seven seven and a half. Seven and a half. I'm gonna I'm going to take the Wildcats at home to cover as a home dog. This will also give us a point of divergence, but God, I love this rivalry. So so happy the train belt trophy is back. And let's not ever stick it in the library again, boys and girls. That was a lesson learned. Let's not make that mistake again, please. Okay. Last one of the day. Also, the oldest rivalry trophy in all of the FCS. We have The little brown stein. And that is between Idaho and Montana. Electric. All right. And I'm just looking here to try to find us a number. Where are we at? Where are we at? Where are we at? I thought it was gonna be right by what time is that ballgame? Let's look. It's three o'clock. Why can't I find this number? Tell me we're not putting a number on little brown stein? A sec here. Loading, loading. Dude, seriously. I can't find this number. This should be a big number because Montana is tip top shape. Yeah. Okay. Dude, I can't find the number. All right. Let me do it. Let me try this different way. Let's go. Idaho. Montana spread. Okay. This is saying Montana, five and a half point favorite in the ballgame. So let's go with that. That's it. Which seems crazy to me. Doesn't seem like enough. I'm gonna take Montana. I'm gonna take Montana. Yeah. I'll take Montana. All right. Let's say verdict's still out on that number. All right, let's say Verdict's still out on that number. We're gonna we're gonna have Jimmy, Jimmy cross check that. But at five and a half, I am a thousand percent taking Montana. Sorry to all my Vandals friends, but at a five and a half, I am one thousand percent taking the Grizz. That would be real that would be a real warning bet. That would be a real money bet that I would make in a heartbeat, even though it is little brown sign. Like, dude, Kiyali Kialili Ayat. I think I said that right. Kiali. Kiali Ayat. I always say his first name wrong. I know last name is Ayat. Dude, he's must see TV. And like Eli Gilman's incredible. Brooks Davis is incredible. Their offense is electric. Coach Kennedy got the boys playing. And not that I'm biased, but I do love Coach Kennedy. So I'm going with the grids, baby. Can we get a replica little brown stein for the studio back there? That's what I would like to have. I may just drink my I'm sure we can find it somewhere with Little Brown Stein. Yeah. I think we'd have to be able to locate it somewhere. All right. That's it. That's the picture of the week. That's all I got. We got a great plane of games. Glue your ass to the couch Saturday. Yes. Yes. GYA. Did I mess this up? I said PYA. I like PYA too. Plant your ass, glue your ass. Close enough. We're all we're rooted either way. We're not moving. All brother. We're not moving. We're just watching football. That's it. Ma, the meatloaf and college football. That's it. all right. Y'all enjoy it tomorrow. Until next time. Kiss you nooch.
